Windows 10: I am unable to change a file's rating in Windows Explorer

I used to be able to right click on a file, select properties, select details and click on one of five stars to rate a file. I can't seem to do this anymore.Tim

Unable to change rating on a single MP3 file in File Explorer

Windows 10 22H2 I use Windows 10 File Explorer to set the star ratings on my mp3 files like this:

1. Right click file name
2. Left click "Properties"
3. Left click "Details" tab
4. Left click on the stars in the "Rating" row (the stars change from gray to yellow)
5. Left click on "Apply"

But this morning when I tried that on a certain mp3 file and clicked on the row of stars in the "Rating" row, nothing happened; the row of stars didn't change color. But I'm able to change the ratings of other files in that same folder. It's just this one file that can't be changed. Is it possible that this particular file has a setting to prevent modifications?

I found mine wouldn't change it. I used File metadata association manager (free) to refresh the applied profile.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
