Windows 10: I am unable to locate my desktop as i accidentally deleted it from one drive folder.

I checked the one drive trash in the one drive web page. It show an error message....one drive/desktop is unavailable whenever i open libraries. I'm also unable to create a file on my desktop. Reply If someone can help me with this issue.

Folder Disappeared on Desktop

   • Right-click on the Recycle Bin icon on your desktop.
     
   • Select "Properties" and make sure the option "Don't move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted." is not checked.
     
2. Moving the Folder: It's possible that the folder was accidentally moved to another location on your desktop. To prevent accidental movement, you can consider organizing your desktop by using fewer icons or arranging them in a way that minimizes accidental movement.
   
3. Software Conflict: The error message you received when trying to add a new file to another folder may indicate a potential software conflict. It's a good idea to run a scan for malware or viruses on your computer to ensure there are no malicious programs causing issues.
   

To prevent similar issues in the future, consider the following tips:

Accidentally Deleted Some Folders

Yesterday I was cleaning my PC and I accidentally deleted two folders (named "NVIDIA" and "NVIDIA Corporation") in C:\ProgramData. To my knowledge this two folders only contain non important stuff like logs, etc. Later on I have found out my Program Settings in NV Control panel were set to default. This is no big deal, but now I'm worrying I fu***d something up. Otherwise, everything works as it should --> no overheating, BSODs, games are working normally...

I just want to know what I deleted. Were those two folders important???

 

Unable to delete a folder - Invalid folder name


Suggestion:

1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
   x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
   NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.
