Windows 10: I am unable to type the closing square bracket character ']'.

Just today I swapped to a new keyboard and with that also swapped from German-QWERTZ to US-QWERTY. There is just one single issue. Every single key is working fine but the closing square bracket key doesn't produce the ']' when pushed. To make this all the more confusing the same key works when pushed with shift. So the '}' appears character appears like it should. Also, when using a keyboard tester the key is being registered as pressed but the character ']' is never produced.What I've tried: - Uninstall drivers and restart didn't work- Using keyboard manufacturer supported software to chan

Can't type square brackets!!!

I literally can type {} which are the same keys but I can't type square brackets for some reason I even tried the on-screen keyboard and I still cannot type it

 

I cant type a square bracket on my extremeley small Asus computer

You can use the Character Map for you to be able to use square brackets, refer to the screenshot below:





Also, a much easier way is to use a keystroke combination by pressing and holding the ALT key, then press 0091 (ALT+0091 - Left Square Bracket) from the Numeric Keypad. For the Right Square Bracket, the combination will be ALT key + 0093.

keys typing wrong characters on windows 10

Hello,

so basically the keyboard in my laptop is typing wrong characters: the "P" key types P and right after opens the context menu, and when I press context menu key it does the same thing; the backspace key does not work unless I hold it for a while, and sometimes it types a closing square bracket; when I press enter it simultaneously types a backslash; one key responsible for square brackets is typing them with a colon, the one responsible for colons does the same thing, whilst the closing bracket one acts as backspace etc. Is there something that can be done about this? I tried updating drivers, uninstalling the keyboard, troubleshooting and nothing seems to work.
