    system Backup From C drive to D drive both internal drives

    I've never had any issues with Macrium Reflect Free rescue drive seeing my internal D: drive. I would suggest you try it again and look better for files on D: drive.

    UPDATE: So I booted into a freshly created Macrium Reflect rescue USB flash drive. When I browsed for image files to restore from, my normal C: drive partition did not have a drive letter (although my second data SATA drive did get a drive letter). Now, I don't know if it was because I created the rescue drive from Macrium Reflect installed on C: drive or not. Anyway, the solution to the missing drive letter was to click on the icon for command prompt. Run diskpart. Then I selected the partition missing the drive letter and was able to assign a drive letter to it. In my case it was:

    Unable to merge D Drive with C Drive

    Hi There,

    I am unable to merge the D Drive with the C Drive. I have moved D Drive data to a different drive. Even after doing that this drive shows me that something is in there even though the drive is empty. I have performed the "disk cleanup", emptied the recycle bin, check the hidden files/folders, there's literally nothing. But the D Drive still shows as there's something.

    Never mind, I decided. And went to the disk management to delete the drive and the to extend the C Drive, but the delete option for D Drive is missing.

    Is it because it says there's some data in there? I have no idea what is happening.

    I need assistance here.

    windows 10 internal drive d how to take back ownership of the hardrive?

    To help you with your concern regarding the internal hard drive, let me suggest you to follow the steps below:

    • Open File Explorer
    • Right-click on the Drive D:
    • Select Properties
    • Click Security tab then select Advanced
    • Select Change after the Owner: line
