Windows 10: I am using HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-dy1xxx and facing code 10 error with my touchpad...

This device cannot start. Touchpad not working on my HP Pavilion x360 Convertible

Hi,

My laptop touchpad stopped working.

The I2C HID Device (one of the 2) is showing an error. I tried updating it , but get an error: Windows found drivers but encountered an error when attempting to install them. The device cannot start (code 10).

I tried to find the driver on the HP Support website, but they have nothing. Is there a way to manually update/install a driver?

I'm running Windows 11 with all the latest updates installed. The system model is HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14m-dw1xxx.

Below is the support page for your laptop on the HP website, set the OS version to 2004, then open the Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices section, you should be able to install the recommended HP touchpad driver from there.

Touchpad functionality has disappeared and can't be found within the system settings on my HP Pavilion X360 Convertible 14.

Below is the support page for our laptop, expand the Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices (22) setion

Near the bottom of that list you will find many versions of that Touchpad driver, try installing a couple of those, if you cannot find a compatible drier, you will need to contact HP support form that page, they will be able to find a compatible version of that driver.
