Windows 10: I am using my old windows education key from uni ,since i got a new computer , it isnt working

Hi , I am using my old windows education key from uni ,since i got a new computer , it isnt working.currently i have win 11and im trying to activate it but it gives the error 0x803fa067any help would be appreciated thank you

Forgot to deactivate old computer's product key before transferring the product key to another computer

Hi, I've purchased a free Windows 10 Education license from my university a year ago. Lately I've bought a new computer that came with Windows 10 Home pre-installed. I've tried to transfer my win10 education product key to this new computer
but I've forgot to deactivate the key at my old computer before traded it in, and now my new computer is in notification mode. Is there any alternative besides purchasing another education license?

 

Can I install a volume licensed version of Windows 10 Education on an unlicensed Windows 10?

My wife is a student in Germany and she will be getting a volume licensed version of Windows 10 Education for free.

We are buying a her a laptop with a great config but no OS installed.

My plan is to:

1. Download an ISO version of Windows 10
   
2. Put the image on a USB
   
3. Install in the new laptop
   
4. Then somehow (don't have the instructions from Uni yet) install the Windows 10 Education on this unlicensed version of Windows
   

I assume this should work but I just want to make sure before we buy this laptop.

 

Transferring a Windows 10 Product Key to a new computer

You cannot use OEM key to activate other devices. But I have seen cases where in it will activate.

You will have to follow below steps to activate on new device:

Open cmd as admin (on new computer)

Slmgr -upk (enter)

Slmgr -cpky

Slmgr -rilc

Slmgr -ipk XXXXX-XXXX-..... (your pk key)

Slmgr -ato

This should activate on new device. Before purchasing a key I'll suggest you try above steps because I have done in the past and it had worked.
