Windows 10: I am using Windows 10 home on an HP Laptop and I keep getting network errors

I can get online using Microsoft Edge with no problem but when I try to do certain things on my laptop like access my device manager I get a network error like the following:


Windows cannot access C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft549981C3F5F...Win32Bridge.Server.exe


Then when I click on Diagnose I get: Error code 0x800704b3


The network path was either typed incorrectly, does not exist, or the network provider is not currently available.


So I can't access any system tools such as Device Manager and various other programs. When I try to troubleshoot I get "An error occurred while troubleshooting: A problem is preventing the troubleshooter from starting.


I am using a Microsoft account. Any help would be appreciated.

• Are you using Microsoft account to access your laptop?
• What is the complete error message/ error code while trying to log-in to laptop?

If you are using Microsoft account and if you don't remember the password/ unable to access using the password for your user account, I suggest you to refer to the below link about: Why
can't you sign in?and try to reset the password.

Try to reset your account password from the website, enter the same on your computer.

Also, I suggest you to check if your issue matches with the below thread. If so, try the troubleshooting steps suggested by
Wasim Asad on August 18, 2015 and check if it resolves your issue.

When trying to sign into Windows 10 for the first time, I

Laptop won't show list of available networks

We suggest checking the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your laptop.

Please follow these steps:

• Click the Windows logo.
• Go to Settings (gear icon).
• Select Network and Internet.
• Then Wi-Fi.
• Make sure the Wi-Fi radio button is On.
• Select Show available networks, then you'll be able to see the list of available Wi-Fi networks.

Cannot boot HP laptop Error Code 0xc000000f

Got into the HP tests and tried the HDD test. It failed immediately




I've also tried recovering Windows from a recovery ISO, goes for quite a while then fails with no specific error.

To me it's evident that the HDD is sufficiently bad as to not be worth any more time in trying to fix.

There seems just 3 options.

1. I try to replace the HDD
2. Get a local PC shop to replace the HDD
3. Get a new laptop

The first two cases may present a problem in reinstalling a valid copy of Windows 10 Home, would a replacement drive invalidate the already licences system?

All cases will involve getting new applications.
Ah well. I shall break the news to her over the weekend.
