I bought a 2nd hand laptop with an exception in Windows Security!!

I bought a 2nd hand laptop (HP Probook 430 G5) today with Windows 11 pre installed. On checking it out I found an exception entered in Windows Security. The file is SppExtComObjHook.dll and is located in C:|Windows\system32\

I contacted the seller (a refurbisher of 2nd hand laptops) and he says not to be concerned, dismisses google searches that mention that it's not good and insists it was put there as part of the upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

What's your opinion? Should I be concerned?

 

How do I delete a power plan?

Hi Harold,

For step by step instructions on how to delete a power plan, follow these:

• Click Start menu.
• Type Power Options.
• Click Show additional plans.
• Choose an additional plan then click Change plan settings.
• Select Cancel. (Customized power plan will be move to the additional plans.)
• Click Change plan settings beside your customized power plan.
• You will see the option Delete this plan in the Edit Plan Settings.
• Select OK to confirm the deletion.

I am considering upgrading my GPU and looking at the prices in NL and the ridiculous 2nd hand market I have narrowed down my choice to the following options:

• Sapphire Pulse RX 580 4GB for 220e
• 1060 3GB for 210e
• 2nd hand custom 290 for 125 euros
• 2nd hand 970 for 150e

What would you go with from these options?
