I bought a new ssd plus enclosure. The ssd then failed to initialize and no driver letter is thus assigned. With no driver lettet assigned, I cannot detect the ssd even using disk management.

Bought a New SSD

i bought a new 500gb SSD and would like to use it instead of my old hard drive. I have a windows product key and tried to download the windows 10 installation media to a usb but it said there was a problem. If i just take out my old hard drive and plug in
my new SSD, can i just reboot my computer and instert my windows activation key? Or do i have to do the windows 10 installation media, an if so how to i avoid getting the error?

SSD not initialized and unable to initialize

There could be several reasons due to which ‘Disk Unknown Not Initialized’ error message may occur, which are mentioned as following:
Corrupt/ Incompatible/Outdated Driver, MBR Corruption, Missing or lost partition, Bad Sectors in hard drive, Corrupt File System etc. To solve this problem we apply some fundamental manual steps like: update the device driver,
Rebuild the MBR boot, initialized disk, assign a drive letter, Run CHKDSK command and Run diskpart utility.

To initialized the disk go to Disk management > and locate the drive that not initialized > the drive will show unallocated. > select unallocated disk > Right click on it > click initialized disk > select
between GPT > Click OK.

Once the process is done, you will redirected to main windows and check you can access it or not.

 

Win11 Not seeing new network SSDs

I have four external hard drives on my network, in a MediaSonic Probox enclosure, two standard HDDs and two new SSDs. The HDD are mapped to drive letters in Win11 and I access them via a router. I just added the new SSDs, and Win11 can't see them. I plugged the enclosure directly into my computer via USB and Win11 saw them fine and gave them drive letters. I formatted them and put files on them. Then I returned them to the network router (via USB), and Win11 can't see them anymore. It can still see the old HDDs, but not the new SSDs. The router sees them fine. What am I doing wrong, or not doing that I should be doing?
