Windows 10: I bought a work pc from eBay and I can’t set up my pc

tried downloading windows 11 but it’s forcing me to use a account from the company to finish my setup what do I do

License expiring on a laptop bought on ebay

Hi all,

I bought a 'opened but never used' laptop on ebay, advertised as having genuine windows 10 pro.

After about a couple of months use at home I started getting the license will expire message. The option I have is to change product key and its saying its activated using your organisations activation service.

There was no product key sticker on box or laptop and was not supplied in any form to me. I just started using laptop assuming all is set up and correct.

I messaged user on ebay and they are suggesting i buy a key off another ebay user - for a couple of quid - which sounds very fishy.

Is the problem fixable or have I bought a dud?

PC times out when I try to buy off ebay

I recently bought new pc with windows 10.

The only problem I have encountered is that I cannot buy off the ebay site either as "buy it now" or by checking out via basket. The site keeps timing out and the following shows:

This site can’t be reached

pay.ebay.co.uk took too long to respond.

Try:

• Checking the connection
• Checking the proxy and the firewall
• Running Windows Network Diagnostics

I have run the diagnostics - nothing was found and have tried to buy after temporarily disabling the AVG anti virus/firewall prog.

Does anyone have any suggestions what I should try next please? Also please bear in mind I'm a user with little computer knowledge and not an IT expert

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??
