Windows 10: I bought the upgrade from home to professional and it will not activate. I need someone to...

I bought the upgrade from home to professional for windows. I followed the instructions. It will not let me activate it. I was not emailed a new key, it automatically populated onto the PC. I really need to talk to someone but can't get any help.

Discounted Office Professional Plus for sale online

Eight years ago I obtained a copy of Office Professional Plus 2010 for a non-profit organization I work with. I bought it from a company this is authorized by Microsoft to distriubte volume license software. When I logged onto the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center I was given the following:

• Link to download Office Professional Plus 2010 installation file
• MAK Product Key for volume license

Types of product keys

• MAK Product Key - Allows one time activation with a Microsoft activation server
• KMS Product Key - Allows multiple activations through a companies own activation servers

Note when you buy Office through the volume license channel you are actually buying activations. No matter how many activations you buy you only get one Product Key for all of them. You get to use the same Product Key to install Office until you exceed the number of activations purchased.

I see a number of online websites that offer Office Professional Plus 2016 and 2019 for sale at a greatly discounted price. Since these products are only normally supposed to be available through the volume license channel where are these products coming from?

Suggested scenario:

These keys may have been bought originally through the volume license channel but are being resold online. For example suppose an online seller obtained 100 activations from some company. They then sell the same MAK Product Key up to 100 times to different buyers.

Does this scenario make sense? Would that explain how these copies of Office are being sold?

 

Activating Windows 10 after upgrade

If you still face issues with Activation after upgrading to Windows 10, suggest you to activate the Operating System through phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select the Region from the list and click Next.
• Call the Toll-Free number provided on top and can activate via phone.

Upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, then bought new computer and trying to activate here instead.

You could honestly make this easy on yourself by using the Windows 7 Professional key to reactivate on the new machine by chat support.

The thing you are trying to do is use the activation troubleshooter to reactivate the license on the new machine.

But that is more helpful if you are using the old machine, not the newly built machine.

Also, lets keep in mind, we don't know the origin of the Windows 7 license.

It depends on how Windows 10 was originally configured on your computer.

If its a full retail store bought license online or offline, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

If its the free upgrade from a retail store bought Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

If its the free upgrade from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is NOT transferable to a new computer or motherboard.
