Discus and support I built a PC recently and was wondering how to get Windows 10 Education Edition in Windows 10 Updates and Activation to solve the problem; I built a PC and have left Windows unactivated but heard I can activate it for free as a student.     I built a PC recently and was wondering how to get Windows 10 Education Edition


    I built a PC and have left Windows unactivated but heard I can activate it for free as a student. How do I do this? Do I download it online? Get a code from my school? I'm just looking for a how-to on getting Windows 10 Education Edition

    Windows 10 Pro Education Edition ISO?

    Hey WIndows 10 Forums!

    I bought a secondhand PC and realized it came with Windows 10 Pro Education edition. Naturally, my first move is to wipe the preinstalled Windows install and run my own fresh copy. I plugged in my recent USB for Windows 10 64-bit, and when I plugged in the OEM Key, it said that the edition for the PC wasn't available. I checked the bottom of the PC and clearly the sticker says
    "Pro Windows Academic Use." I'm wondering if there's a way to get a legal copy of the ISO for Windows 10 Pro Education.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Change from Windows 10 Education edition to Windows 10 Professional

    Windows 10 Education is an academic edition of Windows 10 used in schools. Features like Cortana are removed because of the environment it is used in.

    Windows 10 Pro Education builds on the commercial version of Windows 10 Pro and provides important management controls needed in schools. Windows 10 Pro Education is effectively a variant of Windows 10 Pro that provides education-specific default settings,
    including the removal of Cortana1. These default settings disable tips, tricks and suggestions & Windows Store suggestions.

    If you want to downgrade to the Windows 10 Pro edition, you will need to perform a clean install and you will need a unique product key to install it. The Windows 10 Pro Edu or Windows 10 Education key will not activate Windows 10 Pro.

    If you don't have a license for Windows 10 Pro, you will either need to request it from the institution you got Windows 10 Education; or you will have to purchase a license for Pro, then perform a clean install.
