Windows 10: i can either talk or hear on my headset, but not at the same time

i have windows 11 and a headset that i use to play video games. a few days ago i got onto a game where u can use voice chat and i went to talk to my friend but i couldn't talk or hear any of my teammates. I went to switch the audio ports around so the mic would go in the headphone jack and vice versa, but then i wasnt able to hear but only talk. i thought it was maybe a headset issue so i went and bought apple earbuds to test it but it didnt work. i then bought a new cord because i currently have a cord connecting my headset to the two headphone and mic jack thinking that was the issue; that d

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

war machine, my team cant hear or talk to me

when I plug in my headset combo in game time I can hear the guns go off and the tanks drive by but I cant hear them talk and they cant hear me

 

My Headset Can hear others and game sounds But I Cannot Talk.

Recently I just built a PC. I am trying to setup the Headset. In discord I can hear everybody but cannot talk back. I tried another headset to the same result. I don't know how to fix this. It makes no sense. Any and all help is appreciated.
