Windows 10: I can get to all of my picture files on my laptop OneDrive app but half of them are missing...

I can get to all of my pictures stored on OneDrive on my laptop app but half of them are missing on the app on my phone? How is this possible and how do I fix this?

Files missing in OneDrive

Hello, my other half has put some of his folders from his USB device into his onedrive account (app in Windows 10).

All but one folder has have been moved across and sync'd to OneDrive.

He is 100% adamanent that when he copied the original folder over, there were files in the folder and he saw it in the OneDrive app. However it is not there now.

I searched his laptop to 'look for this' and found a hidden folder on 'This PC' however the folder in question was marked as a shortcut wtih no files contained it in it.

I have searched recycle bins - both on the laptop and in OneDrive - and it's not there.

Every other option - USB device, My Docs, Google Drive, Dropbox - has been searched to no avail.

Are there any suggestions as to what I can do or try to recover the files / folder that is missing.

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
