MTP USB Device drivers won't install no matter what i do

From your screenshotshots I cannot see WUDFRd.sys - it appears to be missing from the USBDeview list.

Looking at its registry entry on my device this driver is responsible for, amongst other things, charging (the 'DevicePowerUpOnS0Entry' entry), the appearance in Win 10's AutoPlay entry in the Settings app (the 'EnableDefaultAutoPlaySupport' entry) and display of the iPhone's device name (the 'FriendlyName' and 'Label' entries). Sounds like your symptoms...

To save un-installing/re-installing iTunes, try this:

1. Disconnect your iPhone.

2. Run USBDeview (making sure to right-click on it and use Run as administrator - or - within USBDeview use CTRL+F11 together for it to reload as elevated).

3. Sort by either the Vendor ID or Device Mfg columns so all the Apple entries are grouped together then use SHIFT+select to select all the Apple entries.

4. In the File menu, choose Uninstall Selected Devices. This will remove the registry entries related just to your iPhone's use of USB, including the list of USB ports your iPhone has been attached to (just in case you've run into Windows' USB port bug).

5. Whilst it shouldn't strictly be necessary, reboot so the registry is read from scratch.

6. Disconnect from the internet then temporarily disable any AV/antimalware product you're using. (This is 'cos the WUDFRd.sys driver is a kernel-mode driver and some AV products will attempt to block it in error.)

7. Run USBDeview as administrator then attach your iPhone. It's iOS is too old to prompt a 'Trust this computer' message but you may see a flash of a 'Synchronising' screen if/when all the Apple device drivers are installed.

If the WUDFRd.sys driver has been loaded then your iPhone should show that it's charging.

If you still have the same problem then it suggests that the iTunes install is corrupt, either the .INF files or the drivers themselves. In this case try this:

a) Download just the CopyTrans Drivers Installer. (See the bottom of this CopyTrans downloads page or use this direct link.)

b) Carry out steps 1-5 above

c) Unpack the CopyTransDriversInstallerv2.048.zip file downloaded in step a.

d) Right-click on the CopyTransDriversInstaller.exe file and choose Run as administrator.

e) Accept the UAC prompt:




f) Tick the checkbox bottom-left then click on the Automatic install button:



It's a multi-stage installer and it's very slow ('cos it includes support for both 32-bit and 64-bit Apple Application Support)... so be patient.

g) At the end, select the Restart now button:




h) Run USBDeview as administrator then attach your iPhone.

okay, downloaded it, opened it while both my phones plugged in (3gs iphone and sony xeperia Z2) i think i can find my iphone in the list but not my sony xeperia Z2:




also, can you clarify how nuke them from DriveStore? just delete or are there other steps?
