LAN Port stopped working suddenly

Hello everyone,

I came home yesterday to find that my PC in my specs had no Internet connection. I narrowed it down to be the PC itself and not any cables/modem/router etc. Now I went ahead and tried uninstalling and installing the LAN drivers again but it doesn't detect a LAN port.

At this point it gives me an error message and states that the Realtek Ethernet Controller could be in "Deep Sleep Mode". To connect the cable to get it going. However cable is connected and verified to work.

I've googled intensively and have tried many suggestions such as certain command prompts, registry edits, special permissions, and different methods of installing the drivers.

Is my LAN Port dead, or something else might be the issue? Please note we did have a power outage yesterday as my other PC had also restarted like the one with the problem did. The second PC is perfectly fine though. Any other suggestions and/or advice? Thanks in advance. *Toast :toast:

 

I need help connecting my win 11 PC to my Home LAN

I replaced my PC (Win XP OS) with a new PC (Win 11 OS) end of Nov. 2022.
I have an Ethernet LAN connecting 2 Win 10 PC's and the Win 11 PC (Was XP PC)
Everything on the LAN worked fine until I replaced the Win XP PC with the WIN 11 PC.
After I setup the Win 11 PC using the 'Advanced sharing settings' The Win 11 PC was connected to the LAN
but didn't show the the Win 10 PC It was connected using a Linksys switch and Ethernet cables.
After a lot of trial and error I was able to access the Win 10 PC and copy files to the Win 11 PC and the
Win 10 PC could use the printer connected to the Win 11 PC. However, on the Win 10 PC I could 'see' the shared files on the
Win 11 PC but didn't have permission to copy them to the Win 10 PC. (Yes, I set permissions on the Win 11 PC but it didn't help)
Any file I copied from the Win 11 PC to the Win 10 PC using a flash drive was 'Read Only' and I couldn't change that on the Win 11 PC

I was living with this until about 2 weeks ago when I thought my Win 11 was hacked and for security I reinstalled Win 11 using the Win 11 ISO.
The ISO install was done using the install feature to renew all the info on the hard drive (Like a complete reformat).
Consequently, I am back to square one.
I can see the Win 11 PC on the Win 10 PC but I am not allowed to access it.
(It is not accessible and I don't have permission to access it).
The Win 10 PC doesn't show up on the Win 11 PC using File Explorer under Network.
Also the shared printer on the Win 11 PC is not accessible on the Win 10 PC.

Note: I can ping the Win 10 PC from the Win 11 PC.

Also, when I had the Win 11 PC and Win 10 PC sort of working on the LAN I was using
the Windows Pin method of signing on and I didn't need a password.
Sometimes when I try to access the Win 11 PC from the Win 10 PC I am
asked for a user name and password and my email address and password for my
Microsoft account doesn't work (I was never asked for this before the
Win 11 ISO install so I know somehow I should be able to log onto both PC's
using the pin and have LAN access to both PC's.

Why doesn't the Win 11 PC not recognize me as the administrator and
give me full access to the LAN when I signed on with the Pin
like it used to before the ISO Win 11 install.

To say the least am really frustrated with the Win 11 Ethernet LAN setup.

It was a lot easier under Win XP and Win 10.

BTW, I used the Microsoft Chat support on Monday 4/17/23, sent a doc of my advanced
Ethernet settings for each PC and after 2 hours the help person gave up and
suggested I use this support method.

Wired Keyboard and Mouse Stop Working - Windows 10
I have an old Dell Studio that is running windows 10 ---

Ir has Windows 10 and SSD installed - to me it does what it needs to do but this darn mouse and keyboard stuff stopping working with no rhyme or reason is making me very frustrated.

Keyboard and Mouse are wired - NOT WIRELESS

• I cannot easily unplug and plug in the mouse/keyboard to get it going again... they are still lit up but they are dead basically and I have to do a hard reset.
  
• USB selective suspend is disabled.
• I checked the drivers for the keyboard and mouse and they are updated.
• I checked to see if PC has KB4074588 and it does not.

I am not sure what else to do.... I can go days without the issue and then days where anytime I step away from the PC it stops working.

I can say when it is working it just does not just stop ... only when I walk away and the machine is idle or the screen is locked.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
