  1. I can only boot in my new SSD through the HP boot menu pressing F9 during startup

Today, I got a brand new crucial p3 plus 1TB SSD for my HP Envy x360 cp0010ca on windows 10 home. I already have a 1TB HDD in the same laptop, and I bought an SSD because I have an extra SSD slot inside of my laptop. I cloned my data from my HDD to my SSD using AOMEI Backupper version 6.3. Before cloning my data, I converted my SSD's partitioning style to GPT to match my HDD's, as I heard that issues can arise if the partitioning style does not match. I successfully cloned my data, and I went to the HP BIOS menu by using F10 key during startup in order to change the boot priority to the new SS

  3. No startup boot menu

    Hello Kimoefat,

Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community and welcome to the Windows 10 Family.

As an initial recommendation, I would suggest you to access the System configuration utility and check if the Operating System installation path for Ubuntu exists. To do so, follow the below steps.

    • Type msconfig in the search bar and select System Configuration from the search results.
    • Select the boot tab in the System configuration console to check if the installation path for Ubuntu exists.
If it exists, next logical step is to check if the boot menu time out has been set to 0, which results in Boot menu not showing up.

The boot menu time-out determines how long the boot menu is displayed before the default boot entry is loaded. It is calibrated in seconds. To change the boot menu time-out, use the Bootcfg
/timeout switch. Valid values are from 0 through 999. You cannot use Bootcfg to set an indefinite time-out.

You can run the following Run command line to set the boot menu time-out accordingly. To do so, follow the below steps.

    • Press Windows key + X, select
Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt

    • Type in the following command: bootcfg /timeout 10

      timeout 10
will set the time frame to 10 seconds
However, if the Boot path for Ubuntu does not exist in the boot menu of System Configuration utility, I would suggest you to check if the Ubuntu is overridden by the Windows installation or if the Ubuntu installation files are corrupted.

Hope the above information is helpful. If you need further information, feel free to write to us and we would be happy to help you.

    Thank You.

  4. I can only boot in my new SSD through the HP boot menu pressing F9 during startup

Desire to force-boot my W10Pro HP from any DVD or USB boot stick

With HP you can usually do one of the following: Power on the computer and keep repeatedly press F9. This should bring up a menu listing the available boot devices. You can then select the USB or DVD drive. You can also press ESC repeatedly during start and then you will get a menu with more options, including the ability to press F9 for the boot menu. NOTE: By aware that some systems and configurations you may have to press down and hold down the Fn key while repeatedly tapping the F9 key.
