Unable to shrink the C drive beyond 455 GB

I was trying to partition my 1 TB hard drive in new windows 10 laptop from HP by using disk management tool . I would like to keep the following partition sizes:

C Drive : 200 GB

D Drive : 400 GB

E Drive : 300 GB

However I am unable to proceed as the shrink cannot be beyond 50% and it doesn't allow Volume C to be less than 455 GB.

Will I be able to successfully shrink it to 200 GB in c drive and does it have any disadvantages doing so?

The last operation consolidated 14 GB of free space, which is good, but not sufficient.

There may be free space blocks before pagefile.sys and after it.

For example, the disk map for C: drive is such as the one below:

<occupied by data - 100 GB)>|<free space - 50 GB>|pagefile.sys (unmovable)|<free space - 10 GB>

When you attempt to shrink the disk, only the end 10 GB will be shrunk, no matter how well your disk defragmenter has optimized the disk, because the unmovable file (such as pagefile.sys) sits between the two separate free space blocks.

To avoid this, you can try disabling the Page file or boot into Windows RE and shrink the volume using DiskPart.

To enable WinRE, run the following:

reagentc /enable

reagentc /info

 

Can't shrink volume more than 10 GB.

I did all, these 2 files are not here. And available size increased 200 mb haha =D
