Windows 10: I can see there is a touch keyboard on the taskbar, but on tapping it, no touch keybooard...

On upgrading my Lenovo notebook from Window 10 to Window 11, I cannot access touch keyboard panel for handwriting Chinese characters.I can see there is a touch keyboard on the taskbar, but on tapping it, no touch keyboard appears on the screen. Pls advise how to open the touch keyboard on my screen.Thanks in anticipation,Philip

I have an old tablet pc, motion computing C5. When I click the keyboard button in the taskbar,
the touch screen keyboard comes up. Problem is its the handwriting option, not the default qwerty keyboard.
any ideas how to get it back to the default???

I want this when I click the touch screen keyboard button in the taskbar:




But instead I get this as the default:




And it won't remember they last keyboard I used

 

can i force win8 touch keyboard?


win10 version sucks.

1. pressing touch keyboard icon on taskbar with pin on win1- will launch the handwriting panel. i rarely ever actually want that, i just use the pen because it's easier to use that than fat thumbs. back on windows 8, the normal touch keyboard would still load when you pressed touch keyboard icon on taskbar with pen.
   
2. i hate the win10 'thumb keyboard', the second view where the letters are split off to each side. on win8 this had numbers in the middle, making entering passwords which both letters and jnumbers in them easy, on win10 the middle part where numbers used to be is a gigantic hole. 4

 

No touch keyboard

What model computer are you referring to, in your system specs it says PC/Desktop
When I select a touch keyboard my selection does not change until I change it.

You could try a different keyboard to see if that makes a difference, this is the one I use
• Settings
• Devices
• Typing
• Turn On Add the standard keyboard layout as a touch keyboard option
When you launch the on-screen keyboard click/tap the bottom right keyboard icon and you can now select the far right option
Also, try toggling (turning On or Off) Show the touch keyboard or handwriting panel when not in tablet mode and there is no keyboard attached to see if that helps

There is also the Windows On-Screen Keyboard which can be handy sometimes. It's main benefit is that it's size can be adjusted and it can be moved around the screen, it will also stay on screen until you exit it.
To find the Windows On-Screen Keyboard and create a quick link to it:
• Launch Search (Win Key + S)
• Type in on-screen keyboard
• Right click on the result and select you preference of Pin to Start or Pin to Taskbar

If you want to create a shortcut then select Open File Location
• Right click On-Screen Keyboard
• Select Send To > Desktop (Create Shortcut)
• You can then move that shortcut to wherever you want
