  1. I Can Still Delete and Rename Write Protected Files

Hi, I write protected a directory for an old report. The directory contains about 100 different files and sub directories. I write protected the top level directory in File Manager/Properties/Attributes->Read Only, and applied changes to subfolders and files. Now when I open one of the files in the protected directory, with the program that created it, it will not let me write back to the original file as would be expected. So thats good. But, I can still delete or rename any of the files or subdirectories. I can also move the files and directories to other locations, I can also crea

I'm having the same problem trying to delete a file on an SD card with a universal host controller. It reads The disk is write-protected. Remove the write-protection or use another disk. How do U remove the write-protection????

I Can Still Delete and Rename Write Protected Files

    deleting write protected files

My Tmobile Wing running WM5 starting flashing low (and then critically low) memory warnings. Using file explorer I determined the file "compimeh.0409.dat" had grown to ~15megs. This file is related to the word completion dictionary and apparently there
is a bug that causes it to continue to grow.

When trying to delete the file, I receive the "cannot delete compimeh.0409.dat. There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use".

I can however copy the file (to the storage card), rename the file, and even move the file to different folders in main memory. But under no circumstances have I been able to delete it from main storage.

(Note: after rename it, turning on/off the auto-complete created a new compimeh.0409.dat file).

Does anyone know of any file unlocking programs for WM5? Or any other suggestions or methods of deleting this file?
