Windows 10: i can surf the web just fine and open game launchers like steam, but i cant connect to...

This started when i woke up, turned my laptop on, and tried to play valorant. i heard rumors about vangaurd being a malware but idk if it's vangaurd doing this, because i uninstalled it and online games still didn't work.


I followed the steps on this other microsoft forum, they didn't work.

Steam, Blizzard and other launchers simply not opening

So when I try to open steam it checks for updates, shows the connecting window, my mouse shows it's loading for a second and then it just stops. In task manager it shows steam is running for a few moments and then stops. With the Blizzard launcher it's the
same, it shows it's logging in, the computer loads for a moment and then nothing. I just installed Dark Age of Camelot, the launcher would open and I could log in, but when I pressed play the launcher closed, the computer loaded for a second and then, once
again, nothing. The same thing happen with the Secret World Legends launcher, it would check for updates but would not actually play the game.

-I have found Magic the Gathering: Arena seems to run just fine but it also just opens from the application directly to the game

-Discord and Skype seem to work just fine

-So it seems to be game launchers that want to connect to the internet are whats broken

At the same time I started having this problem I a few others poped up that I had never had before:

-Windows media player and VLC media player. The WMP seems to have started working again and VLC worked when I reinstalled it

-Occasionally when opening images with windows live photogallery I'd get an infinity loading cursor in that folder. The problem would go away by restarting my computer.

-I can't have more than one pdf open at the same time in Adobe Reader or the program crashes

I'm not sure if these are connected to the game launcher problems but there it is.

I'v checked around and I haven't found anyone else with these problems but it's got me worried about my computer as a whole.

 

Epic Games Launcher

I got this computer from my step dad, he got it from his insurance company. When I open Epic Games launcher I can see the logo but the rest is blank. Is there a file I need to remove? I really would love any suggestions

Windows 10 Steam game crashes

To assist you better, I would like to ask some questions:

• Does the issue occur only with Steam games or all games?
• Are you able to view videos?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

I suggest you to update the Graphic Card driver by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapters.
• Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.
