Windows 10: I cannot access anything via the Window's start button e.g. settings, photos, camera,...

A few days ago, I unplugged my computer as to prevent it from being damaged by a lightning storm however, when I plugged it back in to restart it, the power went out momentarily while I was in the process of doing so. I then proceeded to have difficulty with restarting my computer as my computer failed to automatically repair itself & I had to resort to restarting my computer from a system restore point. After that, it appeared that most-everything was within working order until I realized that I could not use the start button nor could I access anything via the taskbar with the exception

• To open up your webcam or camera, select the Start Windows logo Start button button, and then select Camera in the list of apps.
• If you want to use the camera within other apps, select the Start Windows logo Start button button, select Settings Gear-shaped Settings icon > Privacy > Camera, and then turn on Let apps use my camera. 
• From there, turn on each of the listed apps where you want to use the camera. Test your camera here

Webcam Test

 

no access to G drive in windows 10

I have windows 10 and cannot get access to use the external G drive. I followed the instructions that were previously listed but I am still denied access. Here is what was previously listed.

a. Right-click on the main folder and choose 'Properties'.

b. Click the 'Security' tab .

c. Look towards the bottom right hand side and click 'Advanced'.

d. Click the 'Owner' tab and click 'Edit'.

e.　Under Owner, click on 'Change'　link.　

f.　 Type 'Everyone' and click on Apply and OK.

g. Now, click on 'Edit' button.

h. Under 'Permission for SYSTEM', place a check mark on all the Allow.

e. Click on 'Apply' and 'OK'.

 

Not possible to import photos direct from my camera in Windows 10

I can understand the inconvenience this may have caused, but rest assured, we are here to help you with your concern.

This could be due to incorrect Auto play settings. I suggest you to follow the steps as shown below and check if it helps.

• Plug in the Camera.
• Go to Start and type AutoPlay Settings.
• Choose AutoPlay Settings.
• Under your Camera Device, choose the option "Import Photos and Videos."
• Exit Auto Play Settings and check if the issue persists.
