Windows 10: I cannot access localhost on my Windows 10 laptop

Discus and support I cannot access localhost on my Windows 10 laptop in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I have uninstalled IIS and after rebooting reinstall IIS but I am unable to access localhost on my computer....     I cannot access localhost on my Windows 10 laptop


    I have uninstalled IIS and after rebooting reinstall IIS but I am unable to access localhost on my computer.

    Access localhost from another computer

    Localhost, as the name suggests, points at the localhost. Use the hostname or IP from your computer on their PC's. ie something in the 192.168.x.x or 10.0.0.x range most likely.

    Lost localhost access after Windows 10 upgrade

    Hi,

    I used to run web apps on localhost (on a dedicated port) and it works well on Windows 8.1.

    After the upgrade to Windows 10, I cannot access to the apps via any kind of browsers, I always get a timeout error...

    localhost access (direct or on a port) seems blocked.

    I found some known causes on forums but nothing changes:

    • disabled IIS
    • tried to find World Wide Web Publishing Service: not running on my PC
    • allowed Localhost Loopback in Edge

    Does anyone meet the same issue?

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
