Windows 10: I cannot access my local disk.

Okay guys, so, ever since I've gotten this PC , which runs Windows 10, I've encountered many issues. I first noticed when I could not run any .EXE, .MP4, or literally ANY files whatsoever. I cannot afford a fresh install so I do not know what to do. There's also no restore point. And I cannot reset it because it says that there was a problem and that no changes were made. I've tried to get the command prompt to check my disk with the chkdsk commands, but it sadly didn't work. I've went into properties and tried to change the security setting but it does not work. On the top it says "Owner unable to display current owner. Change" I click change and it brings up a message that says "Can't open access control editor. Access is denied." It shows that it's by the windows security defender. I cannot open the windows security defender at all. Please help me guys. I really need it.

As you are facing issues with privileges to access the local account, I suggest you to try the below and check if it helps.

• Please be informed us the troubleshooting steps you have already tried.

This issue might be due to some error in system settings.

If you have not yet tried the below steps, I suggest you to perform and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to log out from the current user account, restart the computer and log-in with the administrator account and check if you are able to access the local drivers.

If the issue still persists,

Step 2: I suggest you to place the computer in safe mode, try to log-in with administrator account and check if the issue persists.

Recovering Local Disk

It could be a compatibility issue with the latest update and your local disk. We suggest updating your disk driver. Follow these steps:

• On the Start, type Device Manager.
• Locate and select Disk drives.
• Right-click on your disk drive, select Properties.
• Go to the Driver tab and choose Update Driver.
• Once done, click OK.

GPT Reserved Partition showing as Local Disk


Hi

I have a two laptops with Windows 10 x64. Recently I noticed new partition with next available letter. Size is 128mb and it can't be accessed. I checked in Disk Management but this partition is not listed there as per the below screen:





I used MiniTool Partition Wizard and managed to see details about this partition.





I tried Diskpart to remove Drive Letter but no luck:





This happened at the same time on my two HP laptops but not sure what could cause it. Maybe some Windows update? I do not remember installing any new apps. I would like to remove this disk from the list of available disks.





Can anyone suggest/advise how I can remove this from the list?
