Windows 10: I cannot access my only admin account and therefor cannot receive chat assistance or make...

I recently left my job. I decided that I did not want my desktop associated with the microsoft account I used for that job. Before adding a new admin to my desktop I initiated the process of deleting that microsoft account I know, big mistake. I am still within the 30 day window for reactivating, however, I am required to provide a verification code to do so, which is not going through. There is only one email account I can think of that should be receiving that code but after several hours, nothing. I have checked my spam folder repeatedly. There doesn't seem to be any other recovery method

Admin Account Accessing Other Accounts

And it was careless of me not to ask if you had 'relocated' your user folders. I have also relocated mine to my D drive.

It is possible to manually change the access permissions if you want to do so.
- I did not bother since, like you, my Admin account is also me & I could not see any point.
- There would be some benefit in limiting your Admin access permission if you often use the Admin account whilst online [and your Admin account might therefore be hacked one day - malware might reach every folder that the currently logged-on user has access to]. I only use my Admin account when I'm offline.

If you do want to check/change the access permissions
- right-click on each of your relocated Documents etc on your D drive
- Properties
- Security tab
- Select Administrators [plural] in the list and you'll probably see that you have these set - Full control, Modify
- Just for comparison, select Users\Authenticated users in the list and you'll probably see that you do not have Full control, Modify set for them.
- Check before changing anything that your own username in the list has a tick for all the entries Full control through to Write or else has a tick on Special permissions
- Click on Advanced
- Check before changing anything that your own username is shown as the Owner

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

 

Settings can't be opened using the built-in administrator account

Unfortunately I have the same issue as Dabz from upgrading win7 to win10.
I've tried opening settings using all the suggested methods and it will not load using my account with Administrator access nor the built-in Administrator profile. I also tried other methods not listed such as using Run. Control panel is just a stepping stone to add users in Settings.
I'm also having explorer.exe issues, which I believe is preventing Settings from loading.
Using cmd (Admin) I successfully created a new user profile [and granted admin access also using cmd (Admin)], however win10 will not allow this account to log on. win10 does not list this new user within control panel but it does in the start menu. win10 will not allow to log in or switch to the new account via the start menu either.
I can access settings in Safe Mode but this will not allow me to create a new account.
Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
