Windows 10: I cannot activate my Windows 10, error 0xC004F074

I have had Windows 10 for years, on my desktop. Recently I noticed in the bottom right side of all my screens is a transparent message: Activate Windows. Under those two words, is a line that says, Go to Settings to activate Windows. When I go to settings there is a long message in red font that says that "We cannot activate Windows on this device.... as we cannot connect to your organization's activation server whatever that means... I have no organization. I am a single user in my house, a retired American Citizen in Oakland, CA. It goes on to say "Make sure you are connected to yo
