    I cannot add my gmail addres as an alias


    I am trying to add my gmail account *** Email address is removed for privacy *** as an alias to my Microsoft Account *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I get an error the email address is already taken. I closed the Microsoft Account for *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I would like to sign in with my Gmail account as that alias instead of with the hotmail account. Can you help me get the Gmail account added to my Microsoft Account. I am part of a Family group.Thanks,Ava and Mark and Becky - parents

    • For example, do you have problems adding aliases with Gmail, or do you have problems with aliases for Microsoft services in Windows?
    • Are you trying to change the username or email address used to sign in to your computer, or is it related to a specific application or service?
    • Could you provide more information about the steps you're taking to change the alias and where you're encountering the message that says the Gmail address is already taken?
    If this matches my guess, assuming you are currently adding an alias to your Gmail account, it is most likely because the alias you are trying to use is already associated with another Google account.     I just got this computer, it has an alias on it, I want to change to my gmail. When i try it says already taken. How do i tell it is mine and get it to accept it?

    I would like to change my windows live account which was a vz email acct that now has an outlook.com alias and start over with only a windows live login/ no alias.

    Change the email address or phone number for your Microsoft account - Microsoft Support



    Step 2: To create a new account.

    • Click on Go to Outloo.com on this page.
    • Click on Sign up now.
    • Follow the onscreen instructions.
