  2. NT SERVICE/TrustedInstaller - Can't change owner/Error message

    Hi F.Grobusch,

It is still displaying with - unable to display current owner. Should it be saying TrustedInstaller.

It seems the files have transferred back under TrustedInstaller. Can't be sure as I can't access the folder and don't want to change anything else.

    Thanks

    Hi Ron,

To help resolve your concern, you have to first take ownership of the files or folders and then grant yourself full
control permissions and rights. To do so, follow the steps on this link:

    • Open
      File Explorer
and then locate the file or folder you want to take ownership of.

    • Right-click the file or folder, click
      Properties and then select
      Security
      tab.

    • Click the
      Advanced
      button and the
      Advanced Security Settings
window will appear. You need to change the Owner of the key. Click the
      Change link
      next to the "Owner:" label

    • The
Select User or Group window will appear. Type "NT Service\TrustedInstaller"
      as the new owner name.

    • Click
OK to change the ownership and you are done.

Let us know how it goes.

I cannot change the owner of the " system32 " file back to " Trustedinstaller "

i changed my system32 administrator from trustedinstaller to myself and now i unable to undo it .

    Hi Harshita Dubey,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Right click the System32 folder and select Properties, then select the Security tab and click Advanced.

Click the Change button beside owner and then set this as the owner of tat folder

    NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller

If that succeeds, save that setting and restart (not shut down) your PC
