I cannot connect any pendrive nor external USB drive in my Windows 11

I am trying to connect a pendrive into my computer but it won't show in the explorer. I tried multiple pendrives and an external HD, but none worked. The drives work tested on other pc and the USB work booted a linux via USB successfully.* The drivers appear in the Device Manager as "Unknown Device".* The Disk appear in the Disk Management Tool, but the Volume/Partition doesn't seem right. When Trying to make any action like changing the volume letter, the following error appears:"The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management Console is not up-to-date..."* I also tried viewin

  2. Windows 11 File Explorer not showing external drive

If Windows 11 File Explorer is not showing an external drive that is connected to your device, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check the connection: Make sure that the external drive is properly connected to your device. Try unplugging and replugging the drive, or connecting it to a different USB port.
    2. Check Disk Management: Open Disk Management by pressing Windows key + X, then selecting Disk Management. Look for the external drive in the list of drives. If it appears but has no drive letter assigned, right-click on it and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths". Assign a drive letter to the external drive, and then check if it appears in File Explorer.
    3. Update drivers: Make sure that your device's drivers are up to date, particularly the drivers for your USB ports. Use the Device Manager to check for any outdated or malfunctioning drivers, and update or reinstall them as needed.
    4. Check power supply: If the external drive requires a separate power supply, make sure it is properly connected and functioning.
    5. Test on another device: Try connecting the external drive to another device to see if it appears in File Explorer. This will help determine if the issue is with the drive itself or your device.
By following these steps, you may be able to resolve the issue of Windows 11 File Explorer not showing an external drive.

WINDOWS 11 - BLANK WHITE TASKBAR WHEN CONNECTING AND OPENING AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE

Hi, I'm Anvar, I'd be glad to help you today on this

The file explorer or taskbar freezes while connecting an external drive indicates a hardware problem on the drive connected

suggested to try below steps to isolate the issue

Try on another USB port (a USB 2 port is suggested)

    Try on another computer

    Try with another USB adapter

    Hope this helps.

Toshiba External USB drives not showing in Explorer or Disk Management Plug-in

    Thank you for the update.

Looks like your system is unable to detect your external hard drive. Let's see if scanning for new hardware will fix the issue. Follow these steps:

    • Press the Windows key to launch the Start menu.
    • Type in Device Manager and press Enter.
    • Under Device Manager, select Action tab > Scan for hardware changes.
    • Wait for your system to install the generic driver for your device and follow the on-screen instructions.

If the issue still persists, we suggest that you perform the following recommendations below:

    • Plug in your external USB drives to other USB device port of your system.
    • Use other USB cables for your external device to connect to your system.

Keep us updated and we will be glad to assist you further.
