  1. I cannot connect to WiFi on my new pc build, what can I do?

I just finished a pc build yesterday and used a usb to install windows 10, after some troubleshooting with the storage I have everything working. Now I am facing the issue where I can’t connect to WiFi via my computer, even though my motherboard has a WiFi 6 built in, with a router that came with it. Whenever I go to internet settings it only gives me the option to connect via Ethernet. How can I fix this?Below is my specs

    Creators Build WiFi connection

Dell Inspiron laptop with Intel Centrino N-2230 WiFi running Win 10 Creators Build version 1703, build 15063.250.

When booting the system, it doesn't automatically connect to the 802.11n router which is in the same room. No other WiFi devices on this network. I have to open the list of available WiFi networks from the taskbar icon and select the SSID. The box "connect
automatically" is checked for my network SSID.

As soon as I click Connect, the link is made so -for some reason- the "connect automatically" setting doesn't seem to be working. Didn't have this problem with the Anniversary Update that was running before updating to Creators.

I let the Intel download wizard scan this hardware after updating to Creators build but it didn't offer a new WiFi driver.

    Any suggestions?

    Creators Build WiFi connection

    Hi,

Since you've installed the Windows 10 Creators update, you should also update the WiFi adapter to resolve the issue. You may check for the latest driver of your WiFi adapter through Device Manager. To do so, please follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X, then select Device Manager.
    • Under Device Manager, double-click Network adapters.
    • Right-click on your wireless adapter, then click Properties.
    • Under Properties, click Driver tab.
    • Click Uninstall.
    • Once you're done, click OK.
    • Left-click on the wireless adapter to highlight it.
    • Click Scan for hardware changes to search for the most updated driver for the device.

I did that but no new driver was offered. I then went to the Intel site but it also didn't offer a new driver for their Centrino N-2230 WiFi card. This was a clean install of Creators Update so all the latest drivers should be installed.

But as I said, this seems to be an issue with Win 10 Creators Update's "automatically connect" feature,
not with the WiFi driver. As soon as I manually connect to my network, everything works ok. It should be connecting to the network automatically as soon as Win 10 finishes loading.

Windows is acting as though "automatically connect" is not checked for my network, even though there's a checkmark in that box when I open the list of available WiFi networks.
