Windows 10: I cannot get Libre calc to sort

    Hello All
    Even the most simple of spreadsheets will not sort. Some columns will, but never all of them. (Libre calc). I used Excel for years so know what I'm doing (I hope)

    Cleaning and removing C:/ drive slows down the opening of Libre Calc

    If not the right place, please direct. I deleted, cleaned, and moved to open up space on the Windows 10 20H2 C:/ drive. Then I uninstalled an older LibreOffice and installed 7.2.2.2 It now requires nearly 30 seconds to open Libre Calc. So far other documents open normally. I want to use Calc and Microsoft Word. I don’t want to use Writer or Microsoft Excel. I get the “default file formats not registered” error. Default files are registered .ods with Libre Office and docx at Microsoft Word, but that does not help. I will greatly appreciate advice. Thank you.

    Hi, gwatts Same slowing down with all LibreOffice programs happened to me months ago. I know, this probably is not the case, but it turned to have something to do with the printer driver. Even I had such a driver from Windows Update, I installed the optional one from the same place and since that, the programs are fast when I open them. Hope this can help you, if you need further assistance in this matter, please let me know.

    I cannot get Libre calc to sort

    Switching to Office Libre, is there a way to make xls files open it?

    In File Mgr I'm looking for a good way to switch default file opening to Office Libre. Maybe I just have to launch Libre first and open files individually from that file menu but I like to use File Manager sometimes. Also, I might like to change all .xls files in one sweep, not just one file at a time using right-click "open with," which is a little awkward. "Libre Office Calc" is listed there and seems to open only the spreadsheet portion of the suite, something I didn't know it could do. My Office 02 is becoming too unstable now to continue using it. I don't really want to join 365, just don't need it. Libre isn't listed in my Settings > Apps. Just looking for what is easiest. I've googled this first, have not seen a solution. Much of the guidance seems oriented around launching programs at startup, not sure I want to do that with Libre. Thank you, Don
