Windows 10: I cannot get plug-and-play to work for DVDRAM GSA-T20L external drive on Windows 11

I bought a generic DVD reader off of Amazon, and my device will not recognize it. All of the drivers that I've found online are for earlier versions of Windows.

Can I use a Plug and Play external DVD drive for my HP laptop with Windows 11 S mode?

Thank you for your reply. I have a couple of questions before I purchase a Plug and Play external DVD drive.

1. I have a question about backward compatibility. I have been shopping on Amazon for a DVD drive. If the product description states that the DVD drive is compatible with Windows 10, am I correct to assume that the DVD drive will be compatible with Windows 11?
   
2. Windows 11 doesn't seem to have an app for operating a DVD drive. However, there are several apps in the Microsoft Store. I noticed two different types of apps to utilize a DVD drive: DVD player apps and DVD burner apps. Is it necessary to download both types of these apps, or are there single apps that play and burn DVDs?

• Just to confirm, the device that is not working properly is a external DVD optical drive?
• Were there any recent changes or updates installed on your computer?
• Have you tried to plug the external drive to a different port on your computer?

As a initial recommendation, we suggest that your run the built in troubleshooter in Windows 10. Kindly refer to the steps below:

• Type “Troubleshooting” in the Search bar and press Enter.
• Click on “View All” in the top left corner.
• This will display the list of troubleshooters which are built-in in the computer. You can click on
  Hardware and Devices from the list and you can run the troubleshooter.
