Windows 10: I cannot get realtek high definition digital audio working. I've even system restored. Help!

My problem is simple on the surface; Realtek High Definition Audio is gone. Audio still works through my ASUS monitor and Oculus Rift. Earlier today, after some investigation, I checked device manager and saw it was hidden, with an error code 45. I looked for a solution and was told by multiple sources to uninstall and reinstall. After uninstallation, I cannot get it back. Trying to install legacy hardware just leads to a bsod, which gets stuck on 0% every time. I eventually resorted to system restore; this too did not work. I am missing realtek high definition audio and any attempt to install it doesn't work. It shows up in my Add or Remove Programs, but not in my Device Manager. I should note that there is another error that may be related; there is a code 10 for one of my High Definition Audio Controllers. I have spent half a day trying to fix this, because I just woke up to play some steam games and now I'm completely missing audio for my headphones. Attempts to plug them in show that Windows doesn't even recognize it. My rig is:

If somebody could please help me fix this issue, I would be grateful to no end. I just wanted to play on Steam! I've been trying to fix this for half a day and I'm getting desperate.

Realtek High Definition Audio not working

First of all, the Realtek High Definition Audio Device did not automatically reinstall after uninstalling and rebooting. I had to go into Add Legacy Software and select it to install. The Device Manager crashed while installing it, which it always does.
Upon starting it up again, the Device is there, but with a warning sign next to it indicating it is not functional.

Second of all, when I did the rest of the steps, the Driver Manager told me specifically that the drivers for Realtek High Definition Audio Device are up to date.

NOT WORKING-Realtek audio drivers and Microsoft High Definition device

I've seen some videos which just tell you to update Realtek HD driver to the Microsoft driver. Sometimes it works for a while then it stops working. I just go into Device Manager>Sound, video and game controllers> Realtek High Definition audio (right click)>
Update driver software> Browse from my computer> Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer> High Definition audio device. It should update.

 

Realtek High Definition Audio not working

Earlier today, my Realtek High Definition Audio stopped working entirely. I have an X555LA 64 bit ASUS laptop.

I have done pretty much everything recommended in other threads:

- Rebooted.

- Right-clicked Realtek High Definition Audio in Device Manager and selected update my drivers. It tells me my drivers are up to date.

- Uninstalled it in the Device Manager, went to the Realtek website, and reinstalled the most recent driver update. Rebooted.

- Went through Windows Update. It tells me everything is up to date.

I have done everything I can think of doing and my audio still does not work.
