  2. Recommendation for WiFi usb / card

If you have a desktop computer I would STRONGLY suggest a PCIe adapter rather than a USB adapter if you go with WiFi 6. The only USB WiFi adapters that I have seen thus far use a Realtek chipset which is reported to have some serious flaws. In my own personal experience, I have tried 2 of these and returned both, getting performance worse than other WiFi 5 adapters and constant disconnects even 10 feet from my WiFi router.

If you go with a USB adapter, I would suggest a quality WiFi 5 adapter.

One more note: Should you decide to go with a WiFi 6 PCIe adapter, I would suggest a WiFi 6e model. They actually cost no more, and they are one step up just in case you ever go to a WiFi 6e router.

Unable to see Wifi 6E though the card is recognized by windows 11

Currently, it's showing similar to yours - connected on 5 GHz, to my 5Ghz network ID. I have a different SSID for my 6 GHz band, and it's just now showing up in list of available networks. The link you provided is for phones - my laptop is hp pavilion x360 dm1000, with the upgraded wifi 6E card that i installed myself.

Recommendation for WiFi usb / card

As indicated above in post #5, WiFi 6E, tri-band, 802.11ax, is the latest standard. WiFi 6 802.11ax is dual-band. WiFi 6E is backward compatible, but not the other way around. WiFi 6E adds a 6 GHz band in addition to the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. It's something to consider.

It looks like WiFi 7 is coming.
