Windows 10: I cannot log in to windows 10 on my laptop

My laptop was shut down due to high temperatures. So not a big deal at that moment but once I restarted it got much complicated.


My pin is not available so I had to enter a code from my phone number. Well, since I had an old number in my security options I had to delete the old one and update my Microsoft account with a new one.


Little did I know that I had to update the new number first then delete the old one. And so I did it without knowing first and i have to wait 30 days to update my security options.


I did this through my mobile device since it's the only way to access to my account. But on my laptop I still cannot login because it asks me a security code being sent to my older phone number. So there is NO other option to log in.


So I admit my mistake for not updating my new phone number the right way but please don't punish me for 30 days because I will be fired in 5 days!


I have access to my Microsoft account through my mobile phone but only the windows apps. Please allow access to my laptop. Give me advice how to log in without waiting 30 days before I get fired from my job.

Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 freezing at log in

Hello Frank,

A failed update or one-time startup process can sometimes cause stopping, freezing, or reboot-loop issues during the login process. To isolate the issue, we suggest that you answer the following questions:

• Do you have a USB device attached? If yes, can you remove the device and log in again.
  
• Have you tried turning off the WiFi feature in your laptop before logging in?
  
• How about running a Startup Repair in your Windows 10 laptop? (Boot to Advanced Startup Options>Click on Troubleshoot> Click on Advanced options> Click on Startup Repair)
• Aside from the above steps, what other troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
