Windows 10: I cannot open time on the taskbar. Windows 11

Hi guys,I've been trying to click and open the time/calendar on the taskbar right bottom, It is not opening at all. What could be the problem here? I went thru sfc scan and dism restorehealth, and still not working, and everything just looks fine no error detected. Also, my Windows key + N shortcut does not work as well.I tried to repair and reset the time app and the calendar app, still can't fix this.Please help. It worked fine a few days ago.

I appreciate your interest in Windows 11. I understand that Taskbar icons are not working after upgrading to Windows 11. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.



However, please let us know:

1. What happens when you click on an icon on the Taskbar?
   
2. Do you receive any error message/code?
   
3. Does this issue occur with all the icons?
   

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try re-registering the taskbar and see if that works. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin)
   
2. Now type in the following command and hit Enter: Get-AppXPackage -User ([System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity]::GetCurrent().Name) *ShellExperienceHost* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
   
3. Restart the PC once the command is complete.
   

If the issue persists, you can try creating a new user account and then see if you are able to access the icons on the Taskbar.

the solution below worked for some users:

Step 1: Use CTRL-ALT-DEL and choose to open Task Manager.

Step 2: Choose "More Details" at the bottom of Task Manager to expand Task Manager.

Step 3: Go to "File" and choose "Run New Task".

Step 4: Type "cmd" in the "Open" field.

Step 5: Type explorer.exe and change date/time to the previous day.

Recently, Windows Insiders in both the Dev and Beta Channels began reporting that Start and Taskbar were unresponsive and Settings and other areas of the OS wouldn’t load. We quickly discovered an issue with a server-side deployment that went out to Insiders and canceled that deployment. If you were impacted by this issue, you can use the following steps to get back into a working state on your PC.

• Step 1: Use CTRL-ALT-DEL and choose to open Task Manager.
  
• Step 2: Choose “More details” at the bottom of Task Manager to expand Task Manager.
  
• Step 3: Go to “File” and choose “Run new task”.
  
• Step 4: Type “cmd” in the “Open” field.
  
• Step 5: Paste the following (everything in bold):
  reg delete HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\IrisService /f && shutdown -r -t 0
  
• Step 6: Hit enter, and then your PC should reboot. After rebooting, everything should be back to normal.
