Windows 10: I cannot reset my PC Acer Aspire A514-54

Hello Expert,One fine day, I open my laptop, see my disk space, and realize that it's full. So I wanted to reset my PC. I opened Advanced Startup Options, and then, to my surprise, there is no "Reset My PC" option there! All I can select is Troubleshoot, in which Startup Repair is not working, I do not have any restore point. I search in other platforms, I realize that I can reset it through Settings. I try it, and after I select all the options, it loads up to 100% in preparation, and I go back to Advanced Startup Options. And the same cycle is repeated every time I try. When I use "sfc /scan

"no disks detected" when installing windows 10 on Acer Aspire A514-54

i know it sounds really silly but i want to re-install windows 10 on my brother's laptop but every time I'm on the installation page, and i need to choose a disk, it always says "no disks detected" even though i know full well that i have half a terabyte of free space on this laptop, i think it is some sort of driver issue but even if it is, i couldn't find a driver to do with storage for my device and even if i did, i wouldn't know how to install it. I'm not willing to pay £50 for the recovery media directly from acer too.

for a little context, when my brother got this laptop about 2 months ago it was working fine until when about 1.5 months ago it started randomly crashing when booting up sometimes, but we let it go because it didn't bother us too much, about 2 weeks ago the crashing got significantly worse , almost consistently every time he tried to boot the computer up so i suggested that maybe he has a virus and that if the computer is crashing this often that it has probably hacked into the core of windows and he should perform a full reset, so i helped him do that, but after the apparent success of the reset, when we tried to turn it on, the machine kept blue screening with an error message something to do with "NOPAGE" since the computer was unusable, we tried to reset it again and re-install Windows, to no avail. to make the computer usable, i downloaded Ubuntu onto the machine and formatted the drives ready to attempt to re-download windows (off of a USB stick). just after starting installation in the area where you are meant to choose which disk you want windows to be installed on, instead of displaying the disk, it gave an error message saying "no disks detected" as well as a prompt to install drivers if i had any (which i don't) and now i'm writing this.

I've searched the internet for tutorials on how to install drivers/fix the problem we have but i have yet to find one that remotely describes our problem so im reaching out to Microsoft community for help. if anyone knows what is going on, please help us!

Model: Acer Aspire A514-54

computer does not produce sound and touchpad, bluetooth and wireless connections (wifi) do not work (presumably due to missing drivers)

storage: 512GB

currently running: Ubuntu 20.04.1LTS

Hi Captain.

While I'm not answering your question on a new AV I would suggest as a possible step, upgrading your ram.

Crucial has ram for your device. $40 (not sure about tax or shipping) Your device seems to have one slot so you would need the 4GB stick. As you are using 32bit OS you can only use of 3GB. Crucial says you have one slot for memory and tear down videos seem to confirm this.

Memory is static sensitive. Not as much of an issue when it is humid but still something to be aware of. If you don't want to buy a ground strap touch something that is grounded before starting the procedure and then don't go looking for things. Stay seated and perform. You should be fine.

External ram ??? Even if you could buy you wouldn't have port with sufficient speed to connect.

Acer Aspire 5560 not upgrading to windows 10

That Error Code seems to be most frequently associated with/pointing to incompatible Drivers. The Acer Aspire 5560 Model is only listed on the Acer Site under 'Legacy Hardware' as far as I can tell, which suggests they may not be too interested in providing
further firmware/driver updates, but you could try asking on their Forums. According to this site ( Acer Aspire 5560, 5560G Notebook Win7, Win8 Driver, Utility | Notebook Drivers ) the last updates were released in 2012!
