Microsoft Money Backup Restore

Recently I had to have my computer repaired so all my files were deleted. I re-uploaded My Money then attempted to do a restore backup of MY MONEY. I could not because the program kept stating that my PASSWORD was incorrect. I changed the password and I
still cannot log into MY MONEY. I am now using Windows 10 and I looked at your forum question regarding using Windows 10 - didn't help. I have uploaded, uninstalled, then re-uploaded Sunset but still get the same error message. "Password or email address incorrect."
How do I go about restoring my money backup files (10 years of information)?

I have to restore backup on Microsoft money 2004 deluxe and it’s asking for a password for the file. I have never had a password. What do I do?

Regarding Microsoft money 2004 deluxe. Need to restore backup and it’s asking for a password for the backup file. I never had a password for money 2004 and I’ve restore backup last year and it worked and never asked for a password. How do I restore backup without a password?

 

Microsoft Money Backup Restore

I found that my particular problem with Money not accepting my password when using a backup file was that the file had been installed as owned by "System" and not me, so it would not accept my password. This happened to me with all my files and folders
when I upgraded to Windows 10, and I had to go in and change ownership in everything. When I changed ownership of the re-installed Money backup, it worked just fine....to my great relief!!!
