Windows 10: I cannot scan from my PhotoSmart 5520 printer

I purchased an HP ENVYphoenix computer in 2015 and have upgraded to Windows 10. I was able to scan from my computer to my HP printer prior to the upgrade. The scan function is on longer available at the printer LED screen nor from my computer.

What is the fix for this? I need the scan function!

Able to print via computer but unable to print using printer's software

I am running widows 10 and have a hp 5520 photosmart printer. The scan to computer from the printer's panel has just ed working and I get a message 'the computer is not responding. All works well from computer to printer if I ask for a scan. Any ideas please?

I have the same printer HP 5520 , every windows 10 PC can scan from it just fine....

Have you downloaded the updated drivers and software from HP , where / how are you trying to take the scan.

Are you connected to the printer using wifi or USB?, could do with more information.

When I scan from my Photoshop suite , I have to use import from 'WIA support' to scan from the printer.
