Windows 10: I cannot sign my child into their new laptop

I cannot sign my child into their new laptop- every time I try it says it will email them a code and then nothing arrives. I’ve tried re adding them. Deleting them. Switching decide off after making g changes to family group setting.

It seems that there was an error on the page when you tried to add a family member.

This could happen when the child account fails to sync with the server. I suggest you try the steps listed below and check if it works:

• Open
  File Explorer and navigate to the following location:
  
• C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Parental Controls
  
  Note:
  The above mentioned directory is hidden, copy and paste the same location on the search bar in the File Explorer to access it.
  
• Delete the contents in the
  \\settings directory of the Parental Controls folder.
  
• Reboot the machine to see if the issue persists.
  

If the issue persists, you may want to remove the child account from Microsoft family and add it again.

Child can not log in to windows 10 laptop anymore

I suggest you to check if check if you are able to login online using the Child account. I suggest you to change the password for the child account by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X and select Control Panel.
• Click on Family Safety and select the child account.
• On the left navigation pane, select Change Password.
• Follow the on-screen prompts and check if the password is changed.
• Login with the new password and check if it helps.

Child Account Get Greyed Out

Thanks for the suggestion, but I did the following instead.

I have another laptop, 2 weeks old, with Windows 10 Home on it.

On that one, I tried the same steps with the child account, and got the exact same results.
