Windows 10: I cannot type. Cannot insert letters or numbers wherever I need to put them in.

I can't use numbers or letters to work with. As soon as I try to insert any, it automatically opens up another page. I have just updated my windows 11. It is not working at all. When starting, there are a few circle images that randomly dance all over. I have an Lenovo IdeaPad 3 . It worked fine until I updated Windows 11. Please help me ASAP

For some crazy reason when typing I am getting numbers along with letters.

For example the letter T comes up t5 y6 ++and the delet5e key6 gives me a plus sign +++++

I t5ried Fn wit5h num lock and not5hing happens.

Hi. My daughter has an acer aspire E 15 start. When she types h, the number 8 appears before it and sometimes when she types the letter d, it deletes previous letters, also happens when the types other letters(numbers appear before) it. And when pressing
shift, brackets don't work properly

Please can someone help us out

I understand that you have tried the num lock key and it's the same outcome.

Have you tried to press Fn key + Num lock? If not, try it and see if it will fix the concern.

If still it will not fix the issue, follow this steps:

1.Press Windows Key + R then type osk and hit Enter to open On-Screen Keyboard.

2.Turn off Num Lock by clicking on it (If it is ON it will be shown in different color).

3.If you can’t see the Num lock then click on Options.

4.Checkmark “Turn on numeric key pad” and click OK.

5.This will enable the NumLock option and you could easily turn it off.

6.Reboot your PC to save changes.

Lastly, sometimes 3rd party software can conflict with Hardware such as Keyboard and can cause this issue. In order to Fix Keyboard Typing Numbers Instead of Letters issue, you need to perform a clean boot on your PC .

1. Press windows key + R, then type msconfig.

2. Select In General tab, select Selective Start up, put a check mark on load system services and unchecked "Load start up items".
