Windows 10: I cannot type type in windows apps Microsoft Store, Cortana, Settings, etc. or the Search Bar

In an update, I could not type anywhere, period, but using search and indexing fixed the problem enough to allow me to type in everything except for Microsoft apps. I cannot install apps because I cannot use the Microsoft Store. I also cannot type into the dialog box requesting that I verify my identity after entering my PIN, so I cannot enter my Password. My account is effectively locked.Here are all of the "solutions" I have tried that have not worked. Uninstalling the problem updatesPowerShell & Command Prompt solutions all of them, all of the ones in the forumsSearch and indexing tro

If you meant the Cortana search bar, review the suggested solutions on these threads:

• Can't type in Windows 10 search bar.
• Can't type anything in Win 10 Apps (Cortana, Search, Calculator, Feedback, etc.)

We understand that you are unable to type in Cortana Search bar after a Windows Update. However, please reply with the details requested below:

• When you say, “unable to enter any text into the Cortana Search bar” what happens when you try to type something in the text bar?
  
• May I know which update was installed on the computer? To check go to
  Start >> Settings >> Update & Security >> Windows Update >> View update history.
  
• Which build version of Windows is installed on the computer? To check press
  Windows key + R, type winver and click on
  OK.
  

We would like to inform that with the latest update of Windows 10 i.e. Windows 10 1903, Cortana and Search bar are decoupled. Now, if you wish to speak with Cortana, you can click on the Cortana icon on the search bar and start talking. However, you
can still use the Search bar to type in a command.

Hi, have you tried searching the forum?
And have you tried a restore point, or restored a disk image?
(Hopefully you've picked up ny now how invaluable disk imaging can be, and how often it is recommended so that people can deal with problems without technical help, relatively quickly and painlessly)
