Windows 10: I canot create a CSV file out of contacts?

I am try to transfer contacts from Windows phone to android via outlook - but I am struggle to create a CSV file out of it.

CSV files used to open in Excel....not now!


Hi, you say Excel is installed. Does it run normally?

You can't find Excel in (an unspecified) list of applications. I don't know which list that is for sure.

For example, in the list related to:
- rt click a file. Open With
- this list:



- this list:




- some other list...

If Excel does not appear in the above, I suggest you repair your office installation.

Maybe the above gives you some ideas. Otherwise please post a screenshot of where you think you should see it but don't. Thanks.

 

PC Suite : format of contact import CSV ? is contact import 100% broken, or can it work ?

Some suggestions to create a correct CSV file for Nokia PC Suite:

• 
  Export your contacts from your old system (e.g. Motorola PC Tools) a file in CSV format
  
• 
  Create a contact in Nokia PC Suite
  
• 
  File > Export that contact in CSV format
  
• 
  Open that file with CVS editor like UltraEdit (www.ultraedit.com FreeTrial) no Excel because it have some problems and open also
  your file with your real contacts
  
• 
  Compare to syntax of first line because the column labels MUST are the same, if you notice difference like
  "Business phone" (Nokia PC Suite) and
  "Business ph" (your contact file) you must update the label with the same words of Nokia PC Suite file. IMPORTANT: save the same original file (do not change the name!) and close editor
  
• 
  Import the file in Nokia PC Suite
  
• 
  If you do not mistake will be all ok in another way ... check again!

Cannot import contacts via CSV or VCF file

Nokia PC Suite has some problems reading CSV files, as I found. Anyways, I found a solution on the net.



This is a little bit of an expansion of
this post



Step 1. Get your contacts into a CSV file.



Step 2. Open your email editor's address book. (Ctrl+Shift+B in Outlook Express) and import the CSV into it. I used Outlook & Outlook Express both, worked fine. Haven't tried Thunderbird or any other s/w.



Step 3. Synchronize directly, using PC Suite, from Outlook to the phone. Voila!
