Windows 10: I can't access an app on my computer. I get a message saying that the internet is not...

Hi, I have had WeMod on my computer for years. I started to get a message when using that I was currently offline. I made the mistake of uninstalling.... Unfortunately, when re-installing the internet is required after the first install it doesn't matter. I keep getting a message that I am not connected to the internet when I am, because have their website open in Google Chrome. I was on Windows 10. I thought going to Windows 11 might change things, I loaded last night and it did nothing. I have gone through WeMod directions to fixing this so many times and nothing works.. I have No

W10 can connect to wider internet but cannot access web pages

I have an odd issue with my W10 laptop linked to Sky broadband in the UK via wifi using a Sky router. The effect is that while I can actually access the internet (I can send and receive emails using Outlook and can connect to other machines using TeamViewer) I cannot access any web site (Google, BBC etc). There is no specific error message, merely that the access request timed out and a suggestion that it may be to do with proxy. I have tried the following:

1. Other systems (W10 and ios) can access web sites using the same Sky router (therefore probably not a router problem)
2. I have sent and received emails using Outlook, so the broadband connection is working (probably not a Sky problem)
3. I have tried two different browsers (Firefox and Edge), no connection (not a browser problem)
4. I am using Windows Defender and have:
   1. Made sure that Firefox is in the list of allowed systems in its Firewall, no connection after a reboot
   2. Turned off the Firewall and tried again - no connection

My next step will be to re-install Windows, but has anyone got any other suggestions? Could it be some sort of virus (I have carried out a complete virus check using Defender) So - any suggestions?

 

Preventing access to modern app

Ive been tasked with preventing the children from accessing instagram. I've got it listed in my windows hosts file and internet options/security/restricted site but the windows 10 app is still allowing access. Any suggestions other then deleting app which can just be reinstalled?

 

OneNote 2016 says no internet

Hello, OneNote 2016 claims not to have access to the Internet. OneNote is not rendering videos when the YouTube URL is pasted into OneNote. It wasn't until I tried Insert > Online Video when I saw this message: "Check your internet connection and try inserting the video again."

Steps taken to remediate:

1. Check for updates; none.
2. Checked Firewall; OneNote is allowed both Inbound & Outbound traffic.
3. Run full system Disk Cleanup; NO GO
4. Checked for OS corruption; none
5. Restarted System; No Go
6. Uninstalled/Installed Office; NO GO

I've seen a few threads related to this issue, but no resolutions. I saw one mentioning an HKCU Reg Key, but that key didn't exist on my system. Anyone else seen this or know what's causing this feature failure? Thanks, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations v21H2 (up to date)
