    I can't access any of my apps that aren't saved to my Desktop


    I turned on my computer this afternoon and while all the files that were on my desktop worked, the icons on my taskbar weren't showing up and when I pressed the Windows button on my keyboard nothing happened. It's like everything except my desktop has been deleted, and I restarted it by the start button on the side of the computer, but every time I turn on my computer nothing changes. Do you know how to get my apps back?

    The native apps from the system are all showing this strange square instead of the normal icons. Please help resolve this problem. Thanks

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query at Microsoft community.

    Do the apps work fine apart form the icons not displaying correctly? If so I would suggest you to run an SFC scan and check if it helps. If the issue persists you may run DISM command and check.

    Follow this steps:


      • Press Windows+X.

      • Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

      • Type the command SFC /SCANNOW and
        DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit
        Enter.

    How to disable AT&T AppCenter completely?

    Remove any AT&T apps by holding your finger down on them in the app list (from the Start screen, swipe left to access the app list) and choosing uninstall from the menu that appears. You can always download them again later from the AT&T category in the
    Marketplace.

    You cannot hide the AT&T category of apps in the Marketplaces. However, none of AT&T's apps will show outside of that category, so you don't have to worry about accidentally buying one there.

    The other thing you can do is solely use the Zune PC software to buy apps. Carrier and manufacturer specific Marketplaces do not show up in Zune, so you have a 0% chance of buying an AT&T app there.
