    I can't access my CR2 files from Canon EOS 5D Mark IV


    Every time I try to browse my connected camera, the explorer.exe crashes as soon as I open a folder with CR2 files.

    Tried to import through Adobe Lightroom and Photos app. These programs look like can't get to the folders with the CR2 files also, so it finds no photos to import.


    And yes I need to take photos in CR2 format. And yes I need the exact ones in this format that I already took for the clients.


    I installed all the updates on Windows. Everything worked fine on another PC with Windows 7 did I ever mentioned that win10 is terrible in SO many ways?.. But I can't install older windows, because there are no drivers for this PC parts in those older ones... Now I really seriously considering Linux or something....

    Still can't view CR2. files from Canon 5D mark IV

    I experience the same issue. Still can't see .CR2 Thumbnails from my Canon EOS 5D MkIV in windows 10 file explorer. I installed the Adobe DNG/RAW converter, but did not resolve the .CR2 thumbnail issue unless a convert files to DNG (which requires twice
    a much space and adds steps in the workflow).

    It is getting very irritating!

    Still can't view CR2. files from Canon 5D mark IV

    Windows 10 can see .CR2 files from Canon EOS 350D, but can't see files from Canon EOS 800D. Irfan View can open all of them.

    Its December 2017 and Microsoft still don't have the required codec for CR2 RAW files when using a Canon 5D mark 4. Why not? Just not good enough Microsoft.
