Windows 10: i cant activate my account after new hardware install on my pc. help

i recently changed my hardware on my pc. i cant seem to reactivate my product key. i have tried to add an account on the activation page but that opition isnt showing up. can you help me

Activation troubles after hardware chnage

Here's what happened:

• Linked my Windows 10 Pro Licence to my Microsoft account.
• Switched out to a new motherboard, new install linked to my Microsoft account.
• Activation has failed, (Error Code: 0xC004C003) when I try to troubleshoot:
  • Press I recently changed hardware on this device
  • Select the old computer in my Microsoft account
  • Says unable to reactivate windows - try again later - and links to here:
  • Reactivating Windows after a hardware change
  • I've been through it nothing is relevant or helps
• Have been trying for 3 days now - still not activated.

Anyone got any ideas or suggestions on what I can do?

Activation on new hardware

In the activation troubleshooter, when it detects no problems or gets to the end screen, click "I changed hardware on my PC recently", and select the license that corresponds to your PC. You might need to restart your PC.

 

Can't activate windows after clean install

Could you post a link to the "Clean" install instructions you followed? Or list the steps you took. It sounds like you may have done an upgrade.

What account you log in with has nothing to do with activation. Unless your trying transfer a license to new hardware. You can setup with a local account and Windows will activate. Was Windows 10 previously installed and activated on that PC?

The Product Code is good for 32 bit or 64 bit, its your choice which you use. The only thing locked in is the Edition, Home, Pro etc. You can't activate Home with a Pro key for example.
