Windows 10: I can't activate Windows 10

Hello, all, I seem to be having a bit of an issue with my laptop. A few days ago, I started getting an "Activate Windows" box in the bottom-left corner of my screen, telling me to activate Windows in my settings. To my knowledge, my computer has Windows 10 on it already, but strangely enough, it won't let me activate it, telling me that my device cannot be activated at the moment and to try again later, along with the error code 0xc004f025. I've tried activating it multiple times with the same response each time. I've also tried purchasing a product key to see if it was the issue, and I was sent to a link telling me that Windows, still, could not be activated. Am I doing something wrong here, or is it an issue with Microsoft's servers?

Edit: I've found that the error code refers to an action requiring higher privledge, however I'm confused as to why it would show for just activation.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
