    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Windows 7, End of support

I purchased my Windows 7 PC new, less than 3 years ago. Now support is ending; significantly less than 10 years of support as claimed by Microsoft. Furthermore, there
have been multiple substantial updates to Windows 7, also not supported for, "10 years".

My PC is quite capable, Intel Core i7, i7 cpu, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD..., yet I find no assurance that it will support Windows 10. To acquire an equivalent PC now would

cost well in excess of $1,000 again; far from "affordable" in my retirement. I don't find an acceptable option. Microsoft has a virtual monopoly; too overwhelming to

learn Linux or Apple, not to mention cost. Aside from being criminal, as ruled by the Supreme Court, it's just not right.

Is there any truly "affordable" solution, or am I forced to use public computers. I would certainly appreciate a any suggestion.
