Windows 10: I can't back up my Microsoft Authenticator. I’m not receiving the verification code.

I’m trying to back up the information from Microsoft Authenticator, which I have installed on an iPhone. When I attempt to create a backup of this device, it tells me that a personal Microsoft account is required to use cloud backup. I select the option to add an account and enter my personal Hotmail email address. It says it will send a code, but I never receive anything. I checked my personal account settings and I have both a phone number and an alternate email address configured for verification. I also checked the spam folder and there are no emails there.I’m out of ideas. Any suggestions

Did not receive the Microsoft Account Verification Code

I'm Jen, I'm also an Outlook account user just like you. I'm not working for Microsoft but I'd be happy to help you figure this out.

I understand you're not receiving a verification code for your Microsoft account. If your security info's are up to date, you may be experiencing delays receiving the code which I have also experienced before. But if you have already waited too long and have made a couple of attempts, I suggest following the suggested steps in the "Troubleshooting verification code issues" section on the support page below.

Never received any verification code from Microsoft via SMS.

Hi.

I wanna ask, why am I never receiving any verification number to my phone? Even though it's crystal clear that my number currently used for 2-step authentication is correct. (I already waited and trying every hours, even days and it never worked)

Is there any possibility that Microsoft blocked my phone number so I couldn't receive any verification code? If so how funny is that.
